Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of the OWNNOW mobile application and website.

Effective date: Terms version: terms-v1

1. Operator and contact

OWNNOW is operated by Adrian Berger, Mühledorfstrasse 2, CH-3018 Bern, Switzerland.

Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@ownnow.app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use OWNNOW. By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you meet this minimum age and can agree to these terms under applicable law.

3. The OWNNOW service

OWNNOW lets you define Signals, review matched source updates in the NOW feed, configure supported Watches, and optionally receive notifications. The available features can depend on the app version, platform, account, and backend capabilities.

OWNNOW is currently free. Access to the service does not create an uptime, response-time, or delivery guarantee.

4. Accounts and credentials

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your password and authenticated devices, and taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access. You are also responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Do not share passwords, authentication codes, access or refresh tokens, private keys, push tokens, or other secrets by email or through the public website. Contact OWNNOW promptly if you believe your account or device has been compromised.

5. Automated matching, Watches, and notifications

OWNNOW uses automated matching to estimate whether source events are relevant to your Signals. Matching may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Review the underlying source before relying on an item or making an important decision.

Notifications are optional and are not guaranteed or necessarily immediate. Delivery can be affected by device settings, networks, operating systems, and third-party delivery services.

Watch functionality and Daily or Weekly notification delivery may be capability-gated or unavailable. Their presence in the interface does not guarantee that every monitoring or delivery capability is active for every account or build.

6. Third-party source content and links

Source articles, titles, links, product information, and other third-party material are not authored or controlled by OWNNOW. Sources remain responsible for their own content, availability, accuracy, and rights.

External websites are separate services governed by their own terms and privacy practices. A link or automated match does not mean that OWNNOW endorses the source or guarantees its content.

7. Service availability and changes

OWNNOW may be interrupted by maintenance, security work, provider outages, network failures, technical errors, or circumstances outside the operator’s reasonable control. Features may be changed, limited, or discontinued when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, or improve the service.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use OWNNOW unlawfully or to infringe the rights of others;
  • attempt to access another person’s account or data;
  • bypass access controls, row-level security, rate limits, or other safeguards;
  • interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, or disrupt the service or its providers except where applicable law expressly permits security research;
  • submit malicious code, deceptive requests, or content intended to abuse the service; or
  • use OWNNOW in a way that creates unreasonable risk for other users, the operator, or service providers.

9. Current and future commercial features

OWNNOW is currently free and does not currently use personal data for personalized advertising, advertising profiles, or cross-app tracking.

Subscriptions, paid features, or advertising may be introduced later. Applicable prices, billing and cancellation terms, required choices, privacy information, and store disclosures will be communicated before those features are activated.

10. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account in OWNNOW under YOU → Settings → Account deletion. You must read the warning, enter the confirmation word shown in the app, and confirm the action.

Deletion is irreversible. It deletes the authenticated account and user-owned OWNNOW data. Shared source and content records may remain because they are not owned by one account. Technically necessary provider backups, security logs, or records required by law may persist temporarily under applicable retention practices.

Read the account deletion instructions before proceeding.

11. Suspension and termination

OWNNOW may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate or address unlawful use, a material breach of these terms, abuse, a security threat, harm to other users or providers, or a legal requirement. Where reasonably practicable and legally permitted, the operator will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

The service or an account may be terminated when the problem cannot reasonably be resolved, continued operation would create material risk, or the service is discontinued. You may stop using OWNNOW at any time and may delete your account using the in-app process.

12. Responsibility and mandatory rights

OWNNOW is provided with reasonable care, but automated matches, third-party content, notifications, and uninterrupted availability are not guaranteed. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so is prohibited by applicable law.

Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service, legal requirements, or commercial model changes. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date of updated terms may constitute acceptance where permitted by applicable law.

Effective date: 14 October 2026. Version: terms-v1.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer protections and any mandatory jurisdiction or venue rules that apply to you remain unaffected.
